Description: Second half of the 17th century. Large domed steel skull to accommodate the turbaned head. The base etched with panels of calligraphy. The field entirely covered with spiral panels of matching decoration. Especially large early top spike. Twin plume holders flanking the sliding nasal guard. Full butted link camail. Skull shows rich glossy brown age patina, the decoration slightly faded with age. Excellent condition for its early period. See Pant Vol. III Pl XVI and XVII for similar examples. Stand not included.
