Pair Antique Sevres Style Ormolu Bronze Mounted Urns

Unavailable

This monumental pair of porcelain urns from the late 19th to early 20th century  measure 44" tall and 18.5" across (111.8 cm and 47 cm), and feature painted scenes depicting muses on a cobalt blue ground, with the monogram of King Louis Philippe (1773-1850) on the reverse. The inside of the lids show spurious Sevres marks with blue interlaced L's with the letter S. The hand-painted scenes are unsigned.  Condition of each is exceptional with no signs of restoration or damage.  There is some visible wear to the gilding along the rim of the lids, consistent with age, and light oxidation to the gilt surfaces which is consistent with age.
