Description:
Here is an 18" ships anchor lantern with a clear fresnel lens, wire cage, top & side rings and made of heavy galvanized tin. The top is brass. The lantern has a brass oval label that says: Trade Mark Triplex Pat'd 1910 other Pat Pend. The burner is missing, but the fresnel lens is intact. It is a 360 degree lens. Being made of tin, it was probably used for some sort of working vessel, where thrift was important in the details. Protected by the galvanized tin and brass top, it probably was used for many years. An unusually large size at 18". This measurement includes the ring at the top which is 2" in diameter. No serious rust, breaks or holes.
