Description: This exceptional diamond-shaped pin characterizes the intricate gold workmanship combined with masterful stone settings of the Edwardian era. Working on a miniature scale, the jeweller embellished an openwork 18k gold lattice with alternating square-cut sapphires and small lustrous pearls, the center sapphires forming a stylised cruciform, the border channel-set with square-cut sapphires. The pin is in excellent condition and still contained in its original fitted case stamped D. J. Wellby Ltd., Garrick St., London, below the Royal Warrant. English, circa 1905
