Candle and matchbox holder set, featuring the double-gryphon insignia of the Deshler-Wallick Hotel of Columbus, Ohio. Green with gold trim. Made by Lamberton/Scammell China of New Jersey, and furnished to the hotel by B. Altman & Co. of New York in 1927. The hotel once stood on the NW corner of High and Broad Sts. in Columbus, a large red brick building erected in 1915, and closed in 1969. Candleholder measures 3 7/8"h x 5 1/4"d round. Matchbox holder: 3 1/2"h, 3 3/4"x5 3/4"oval. Very good condition with no chips, cracks or excessive wear. Sold by Inglenook Antiques....Esablished 1990.
