Czechoslovakian Hand Painted Peasant Art Pottery Heart Wall Pocket

Unavailable
This lovely Czech Peasant Art Pottery hand painted heart shaped wall pocket is vividly covered with a flowers and wheat design. A small white ribbon banner with the words Z. Chodska is in the middle. I have been told that is a town or area. The Czech Republic was famous for this hand painted pottery. Czech as well as wallpocket collectors love it. This pocket has a name and number signed on the back that identifies the maker or area of Chodovia which had a factory that operated for 200 years. I can identify some of the flower like the red poppies and white daisy, but I am not sure of the pretty blue or purple flowers. With the black background it makes a striking contrast. The condition is very good with no damage to this vintage piece. You can find examples of this Czech Peasant Art Pottery listed in the "Czechoslovakian Pottery" book by Ellis, Bower, & Closser. I do not think you will find a prettier example of these wall pockets. I will also be listing a similar heart and flora Czech pocket with a white background. The white ones are much harder to find and their appear to be fewer of them made.
