Beautifully cast and chased pierced brass guard decorated with acanthus surrounding a crowned portrait bust. Integral knuckle-bow decorated with acanthus, joining the brass cap pommel, which features grotesque masks and acanthus. Stag grip with brass ferrules top and bottom. Gently curved 20" single-edged blade with single fuller and clipped point, with faint Solingen running wolf mark on both sides. Blade worn from repeated sharpening and moderately pitted. Overall length 25".
