Gourd form Yixing teapot. On each side it depicts a dragon playing in the sky. It is made using Duanni clay from Yixing in Jiangsu Province, China. This special clay has been used since the Song Dynasty (960-1279) - it is considered the best clay for teapots. The teapot is unglazed so that the tea will infuse into the body of the teapot and, with use, enhance the flavor of the tea. Maker's and artist's marks on the bottom. No cracks or chips.
