Chatterbox Book, 1900
This is a beautiful issue from 1900 of the children's book Chatterbox. It was published by Dana Estes and Lauriat of Boston. It is in excellent condition with all 412 pages intact with no tears or markings. It has six color chromolithograph prints at the front of the book opposite the title page and throught the book. The book is full of black and white drawings illustrating the various stories and poems and songs in the book. It has stories that are very realistic of the life of the times. There are several ads listed on the front endpages and the back cover. It has a light brown cloth binding the spine and picture covered hardboard covers. There is some corner and edge wear but the book is complete without any real damage as a broken spine or missing pages. The front endpage and the first page with the color print opposite the title page have at some time been folded back onto themselves near the spine. This has caused a crease in both pages and a tear at the bottom of the endpage that is 3" long and a 1" tear in the spine margin of the color picture page. A very rare children's book from 1900. The book is now in a Mylar covering to prevent and future wear.
