Circa 1800 Chinese Export Armorial Bluee fitzhugh Armorial Covered Vegetable Serving Dish/ Tureen. This is one item of a Original Extensive Chinese Export Blue Fitzhugh Armorial Dinner Service. Decorated in the Middle with the Arms of Dawe, Quatering Moore,Lewes, and Selwyn. This Crest, coat of arms is illustrated by David Sanctuary Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, Page 690, #U-7. Howard notes that this service was made for Hill Dawe of Ditcheat House,Somerset. It is absolutely Fantastic and in Very Good Condition. Measures 11 1/4" X 9 1/8" X 5" In Height to the top of the gilded mushroom finial. This service was originally sold by Christies in London, November 1951. This service comprised of Approximately 240 pieces. Sotheby's in New York on January 23, 2009 auctioned this entire set. This piece was purchased from a dealer who was the purchaser of the lot at the Sotheby's Auction in New York.
