The ormolu color on this is so rich and just as bright as the photos. The detail is rich with ribbons and cross grating and it is in EXCELLENT condition. IF you arent sure what ormolu is, in France, a highly specialized craftsman made gilded metal or "bronze dorée" for which special alloys of bronze and brass were made, for furniture mounts, clocks, girandoles, etc. This measures 5" from side to side and the hole is 1 ¼" across. The gold color is like something you would see in a museum of old polished Egyptian jewelry. They dont make that color in newer pieces which really makes this one special. You will not be disappointed. Sold as is.
