Brass and Iron andirons, circa 1830-1840, with ribbed finials and plinths, these are typical of the American Empire era, though the legs are a carry over from an earlier design, the brass founder undoubtedly continued the use of old patterns for his casts. In very good original condition, but with minor repair to a leg pre-dating our ownership, a rare diminutive size ideal for a small fireplace, 12"H. X 7-3/4" W. X 13-1/2"D.
