Old lacquerware box with 4 boxes inside with 96 pierced mother of pearl gaming chips.
Engraved with little chinese men [or japanese men] in the garden
I see them always being described as chinese, but I think that they are japanese. looking at the box.
At least 19th century, maybe older.
One of the small boxes is missing at the cover at the short side a piece of wood, but it is there and you can fix it again.
Please look at the pictures for that, because I do not want you to complain afterwards.
There are 32 rectangular chips being 4.5 centimeter by 1.7 centimeter [1.77 inches by 0.65 inches].
There are 32 rectangular chips being 3.1 centimeter by 2.1 centimeter [1.2 inches by 0.82 inches].
There are 32 round chips with a diameter of 3.2 centimeter [1.25 inches] and one has a chip off..
There are also 2 sets with playing cards with it.
They have interesting picture of Germany, and they both miss the 8, 9, and 10 in all the sets.
The big box itself is 17 centimeter by 24.5 centimeter and 6.5 centimeter high.
