Black Chinoiserie Papier Mache Tray Table

Unavailable
This pretty antique black lacquered and painted Chinoiserie tray table measures 31.75" long, 24" wide and 20" high. Overall condition is very good. Tray rests upon a new set of legs and stretcher with faux bamboo motif. There is a clean break to the center block of the x-shaped stretcher which we will repair prior to shipment at our expense. There is some lacquer loss to the edge of the flat tray surface and there is a dent to one end. It resides in a climate-controlled storage facility in northern NJ, and may be seen by appointment.

Additional images gladly forwarded upon request.

This table comes from the collection of Roni Steinberg Sokoloff, and resided in her former 63-acre estate in Bedford New York known as Cantitoe Farms. (Formerly known as Sycamore Farms, the estate was purchased by Martha Stewart in 2000.) The table was purchased by Ms. Sokoloff in the 1980s.
