Beautiful Edwardian sterling silver powder box with guilloche enamel in translucent ivory. The lid is decorated with a elegantly colorful painted enamel bouquet of wildflowers tied with a blue ribbon. The sides of the box are decorated with small floral sprigs. The inside is hallmarked with Austrian silver marks and the maker's mark "GAS". This maker was well-known for beautiful enameled items such as boxes, compacts, parasol handles and miniature clocks. Exposed areas of silver are parcel-gilt. Origin: Austria, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, very light surface scratching visible with a loupe; a small area of dark spots on one side is original to the making and is not damage. Size: 4-1/16" diameter; 1-5/8" high.
