A rare antique 18th 19th century prototype of large cannon from which were cast actual military cannons in the foundry. The prototype is made of black painted mahogany wood. The barrel is made from one piece of wood and the trunnions are made separately.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 61 cm (24 in).
CIRCUMFERENCE of the base ring: 32.7 cm (12 7/8 in).
CIRCUMFERENCE of the muzzle ring: 29 cm (11 3/8 in). Diameter of the bore: 4.7 cm (1 7/8 in). Depth of the bore: 7 cm (2 3/4 in). Overall length of the trunnions: 26.4 cm (10 3/8 in).
CONDITION: The cannon is in good condition except for some age cracks in the wood on the muzzle face, on the base, and the knob.
