A rare and exquisite antique sterling silver tea & coffee set with hallmarks for Sheffield 1856 and the makers mark of Roberts &Slater.
Featuring beautifully engraved decoration throughout.
The set consists of:
1 x Tea Pot
1 x Coffee Pot
1 x Cream Jug
1 x Sugar Bowl

In excellent condition.
Roberts & Slater(silversmiths) - a partnership of William Briggs, Samuel Roberts and Joseph Slater. They were active and in operation from 1845 to 1858 at 38 FurnivalSt. Sheffield when they registered their hallmark on 1stSep 1845. They were silver and electroplate manufacturers.The firm succeeded in 1845 to William Briggs, plater & silversmith. In 1859, after the retirement of Joseph Slater, the firm changed to Roberts & Briggs.
