Antique Porcelain Shaving Mug in Original Box
The mug comes in its original box, which appears to be a brass-hinged, wood box covered in plasticized paper. The box lid features a depiction of two Victorian children who are picking flowers, with a raised scrollwork design along the sides of the top. The sides of the box feature a marbled pattern, along with a raised design around the bottom. The box closes with an ornate brass clasp. Inside the box is a blue cloth lining, with an impression in which to fit the cup, as well as a bracket for a shaving brush and what appears to be a place to put a mirror inside the lid. The box measures approximately 3.5 inches high, 7 inches long, and 5 inches wide. The box is in good condition for its age, but the paper on the sides of the box is beginning to peel off, the blue cloth lining is worn and discolored, the mirror and the shaving brush are missing, and the box has a musty smell. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and general condition. Shipping / packaging will be $9.00.
