Rare antique 17th century Turkish Ottoman Islamic Shield- Buckler. Details: A shield constructed of a solid wooden core, the exterior surface entirely covered by small brass tokens reinforced by iron nails, and a central domed iron boss (umbo). The inner side reinforced by a solid iron plate fitted with suspension loops, retaining the original braided leather handle.
DIAMETER: 25 cm (9 7/8 in)
CONDITION: The center iron boss is damaged evidently from combat, otherwise in good condition considering its age.
A similar shield, but not of as good quality as this one, was in the 17 October 2008 Czerny's with the Estimation price: 2 000 / 2 500
