Here we have a really nice antique Victorian style Morris reclining chair in excellent condition. It is made of oak wood. The cushions on this chair are new and have been upholstered in a dark red fabric. The back cushion has button tufting on both sides. The back of the chair is hinged and sits between 2 wooden arms with the reclining angle adjusted through a row of notches in each arm. The arms have turned spindles and the wood is a dark stain true to the Victorian style. The wood is mostly undecorated and lightly finished. This design has unframed cushions. It is also known as a Stickley design. This chair is antique and will not be perfect. There is 1 spindle missing from under one of the arms. The chair sits on casters and has carved claw feet on the front legs. The overall condition is excellent. I do not know the exact date it was made or who it was made by. It is very solid and sturdy. This chair measures 41 ¾ inches tall, 28 ¾ inches side to side and 36 inches front to back. It weighs 35 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested.
