Antique 17th century Hungarian - Polish horseman's War Hammer Obuszek / Nadziak. Details: A steel faced hammer head with a down-curved rear fluke and faceted octagonal socket, decorated with hand chiseled central European folk designs, mounted on its original hard wood haft with two holes on the end for the suspension cord.
REFERENCES: These types of War Hammers were widely used by many Central and Eastern European nations, as Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, and Ukraine, during the 17th and 18th century.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length 74 cm (29 1/8 in), length of the head is 16.5 cm (6 1/2 in).
CONDITION: In very good condition, showing the age and usage patina.
