Antique Gothic Portrait Plaque by Flander After Louis Ammy Blanc for Hutschenreuther

Unavailable
This beautiful antique Hutschenreuther porcelain plaque depicts a medieval maiden on balcony with ruins of a gothic cathedral in the distance. It is signed on the front " Flander ". Plaque measures 5" by 6.75" and the modern frame measures 8.5" by 10.25" by 1". Our client recently had the plaque professionally framed and we do not have images of the plaque outside its frame. There are no visible cracks, chips or repairs. Our client inspected the plaque prior to framing and has confirmed there are no damages or repairs visible on the rear. A portion of the foamboard protecting the rear has been cut away to reveal the original markings, which read: "Die Kirchgangerin von Louis Blanc" and "Cop. J. Flander". The plaque is believed to be after a painting by the German artist Louis Ammy Blanch (1810-1885), who painted maidens in medieval settings. There is also the impressed Hutschenreuther royal crown mark. Additional images forwarded upon request.
