Antique French Oriental Bronze & Porcelain Centerpiece

Unavailable

This lovely oriental porcelain centerpiece bowl dates from the last quarter of the nineteenth century, and features floral and bird painted panels and bronze mounts in the Japanese style, including four dragon heads with ring handles, and a footed and reticulated base. It measures 13" tall and 16.5" across and weigh an estimated 12-16 lbs. An old, partial paper label on the underside reads either "A. NORMANI ; SUCC." (or "A. NORMANT ; SUCC.") with the address " 26, Place Vendome ". Throughout the nineteenth century numerous important designers and merchants operated workshops and showrooms on this famous square in the first arrondissement in Paris. In particular, at 26 Place Vendome, the important cabinet maker, Francois Linke, operated a salon from the late nineteenth century through 1940. And in 1893 the noted jewelry designer and retailer, Frederic Boucheron, opened a boutique at this address. This item resides in our client's gallery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City and may be seen in person by appointment. Additional images forwarded upon request. ( hantiques )
