Antique late 18th century pre Napoleonic French revolution Period 1789-1792 French Hussar sword. Details: A slightly curved, broad fullered single �edged blade finely engraved and gold gild on one side with martial trophies of banners, drums, lances, cannons, trumpet and panels of foliage; the other side of the blade is engraved and gilded with the Fleur De Lys among foliage. A brass stirrup hilt of typical eastern European hussar form with diamond shaped langets, and a back-strap decorated on the top by chevron ornament near the almond shaped flat pommel, with its original leather-covered ribbed wooden grip.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 81.5 cm (32 1/8 in)
CONDITION: the sword is in good condition considering its age, over 200 years old, with minor wear.
