This is a stylish antique sterling silver card case with hallmarks for Birmingham 1909 and the makers mark of Henry Matthews.
The card case is decorated with beautiful bows andcartoucheengraved with initials which are difficult to decipher.
The forest green damask lined interior is in excellent condition, with compartments for cards and stamps. It has an ivory writing surface and a silver propelling pencil for taking notes.
We believe that the case belong to a lady who used to take it with her to grand balls in order to make notes of the gentlemen who booked dances with her.
It is a trulylovely piece where quality and craftsmanship throughout are second to none.
