Antique Empire Style Patinated Gilt Bronze Mantle Clock

This lovely French Empire gilt and patinated bronze mantel clock features a gild winged cherub figure with drapery motif above the dial, and reclining neoclassical male figure at the base. The movement is working and the original pendulum is present. Maker is unknown. The escapement is marked " H.L.F. " for the maker, and "Bte S.G.D.G." for Breveté Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement" which simply translates to "Patented without any guarantee from the Government". It measures 20.5 in. (52 cm) tall, 10 in. (25.5 cm) wide, and 5 in. (12.6 cm) deep. This item resides in our client's gallery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan ( New York City ) and may be seen by appointment.
