Antique E.F. Caldwell Bronze Lantern 45 in (114 cm)

Unavailable

This tremendous lantern measuring 45" tall and 16" across comes from Edward F. Caldwell and dates from the 1900s or 1910s. It has its original gilt finish and the patina is wonderful. It has four sockets which have been upgraded with new wiring added and the fixture is ready for installation. Its design is classic and understated, with a cylindrical shape and frame decorated with rosettes, a reticulated gallery and spherical finials at the base, and an upper frame decorated with vines and a reticulated stretcher joining four arms. Condition is exceptional, with no dents or signs of restoration. Image of the design from the Caldwell digital archives of the Smithsonian Libraries gladly sent upon request.
