Antique Cossacks Sword, 18th century Russian Kindjal

Antique Russian Cossack’s short sword in the manner of Caucasian Kindjal, 18th-19th century. The fullered single edged straight blade decorated in coftgari with silver damascening is deeply struck with a Caucasian sword smith’ mark. The hilt fitted with a pair of wooden grip-scales retained by two domed iron rivets with silver inlaid fittings.
REFERENCES: A very similar sword is published in the book "Les Armes Cosaques et Caucasiennes" by Iaroslav Lebedynsky, page 65.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 74 cm (29 1/8 inches).
