Chinese beds of this type are often referred to as "opium beds". A distinctive feature of this antique Chinese rustic style daybed are the sword handle-shaped legs. The seat is a lacquered-sealed woven rattan mat over a sturdy wood base. The legs and the spandrels have simple bead carvings and the leg stretchers are square. Medium brown finish.
