Antique Chinese Display Cabinet

Unavailable
This antique Chinese display cabinet also provides room for storage. Traditionally, it may have been used to display cherished items and books. It may have been used by a scholar to store books, writing paper, ink wells, paint brushes, etc.

The detailed pierced carving around the front of the display area features many floral, animal and aquatic images. This carved area retains some of its original silver lacquer. The carving on the bottom of the apron is of the Buddhist long-life symbol.

The two doors open to reveal a spacious interior, which includes two drawers. The doors are connected via wooden door hinge pins and are separated by a removable center stile. The cabinet rests on square legs. Most of the cabinet's original lacquer remains.
