A typical 18th century American sword - sabre with curved steel blade, double edged towards the point and narrow fuller.
DETAILS: bone hilt with an animal head pommel carved with characteristic 18th century Revolutionary War fashion, steel recurved knuckle-guard with hammered leaf pattern.
CONDITION: the blade is slightly pitted and one chip in the bone animal head (see pictures).
MEASUREMENTS: entire length in straight line: 88, 5cm (34 7/8 in). Length of blade: 74, 3cm (29 1/4 in), width of blade near handle: 3, 5cm (1 3/8 in).
