Antique 19th century Russian Sword Sabre
Antique 19th century Silver mounted Russian cavalry sabre. Details: The hilt is made of a low-grade alloy of silver ornamented with scrolling foliage, and a horn grip set with a helmet pommel adorned with flowers. The slightly curved single edged blade is with multiple fullers. In its original silver alloy scabbard with two suspension rings. Condition: The half of the shoe of the scabbard was cut off probably for monetary purposes perhaps as a way of payment instead of coin. There are also some dents to the scabbard. Reference: Russian Edge Weapons by A.N. Kulinsky page 184 No 110-111. Overall length with the scabbard: 98 cm (38 5/8 in).
