Round/octagonal .36 cal. 8" barrel, stamped ALLEN & WHEELOCK on top flat. Serial number 133 stamped on bottom of barrel. Additional markings L & J HEATON. AGENT on top of barrel and BILL POWERS on bottom, both old but added later. Blue finish. Hammer doesnt hold on cock. Two-piece oiled walnut bag-shaped grips. Includes contemporary black leather holster. Old attached paper tag with ink stamp, SHERIFFS OFFICE/DALTON ROBBERY/EVIDENCE/COFFEEVILLE KANSAS 1892". Reverse of tag with illegible handwritten notation. Interesting story, but we have no further proof of its authenticity.
