Emile Guillemin Bronze Statue of Emperor Napoleon

This 19th century statue of Napoleon by Emile Coriolan Hyppolyte Guillemin (1841-1907) measures an impressive 38.5" tall, 10.5" wide and 10.2" deep (97.8 by 26.7 by 26.7 cm).  (Black marble pedestal shown is not included, but is available for purchase separately.) It is signed " Guillemin " in the cast.  Listed in the Benezit, the artist studied with his father, Emile Marie Auguste Guillemin, and with Salmson, prior to making his Paris Salon debut in 1870.  In 1897 he received an honorable mention award at Salon. Provenance:  Christie's New York, 2007.
