2005/1016 Georgetown Neoclassic Mantel c.1810

Unavailable
To an important soft pine neoclassic fireplace mantelpiece having a bowed central shelf with concaves to either end. The shelf is mounted to a reeded member which agrees with a stylized dentil supporting member course below. The mantel frieze has a central tablet with herringbone feather-like moulding. On either side are sunrise motives with highly carved sunrays. These are supported by a reeded band course matching the one to the shelf. The mantel jambs or legs have convex reeded pilasters with applied fan paterae capitals footed on moulded plinths. The mantel opening has a crisply moulded surround. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes. (#1693)
