2004/1002 Philadelphia Federal Mantel c.1790-1810

Unavailable
To a fine quality early neoclassic hard pine fireplace mantelpiece. The arcaded shelf agrees with three projected tablets mounted to the frieze below a rich course of dentilation and moulded members. The tablets are decorated with applied diamonds and stop fluted gouge carving to the center. A rich moulded trim section surrounds the mantel hearth opening and foots the three frieze panels. The mantel legs or jambs are plain in nature. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes. (#1623)
