A fine quality soft pine fireplace mantelpiece removed from a residence in Callis, Maine. The projected shelf ends are above 2 courses of running rope molded trim which cross the mantel frieze and 2 applied tablets which form capitals over molded pilasters. The tablets have gouge carved paterae in a cosmic manner. A belt course crosses the lower frieze and mantel pilasters stand on applied plinths. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes. (#1538)
