To a fine and rare Northern New Jersey early Neoclassic soft pine fireplace mantelpiece. The mantel shelf has two end projections. The shelf is supported by a rich course of dentilation. The mantel frieze has rich fluting between three plain tablets which are supported on a half round belt course. The mantel legs or jambs have fluted capitals above rectangular pilasters and projected plinths. The interior and exterior of the mantel have moulded bead sections. The mantel retains sections of the original chair rail which return on themselves. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
