To a good quality soft pine fireplace mantelpiece from the Hacensack, New Jesery area. The mantel frieze is mounted with three tablets centered with applied cut corner and oval paterae. The mantel shelf has two projections with a belt course above the frieze.The tablets are mounted on a fluted band course which also forms capitals for moulded pilasters on applied stepped plinths. Thais mantel is interesting due to the large hearth opening and the thin legs or jambs. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
