To a good quality Hudson Valley fireplace mantelpiece. The arcaded shelf agrees with two tablets applied to the frieze, above which is a rich course of moulded architectural detilation. The mantel jambs or legs have moulded pilasters topped with block section and footec on projected plinths. The hearth surround is mounted with a moulded trim section.The mantel is constructed of soft pine. The freize of the example displays an intersting figure of the wood. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
