To a boston area chimney breast of the circa 1740-1765 period. The richly moulded stiles and rails retain two over mantel raised panels. The hearth opening has a beaded trim section. The jambs and lentil are also mounted with a moulded trim with double crossetted top corners. Note: the trim is replaced on the outline of the original. The chimney breast retains traces of the original paint below a modern hand rubbed patina finish.The chimney breast has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup and woodwork repairs have been made as necessary. Should you wish to paint the chimney breast, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting.
This chimney breast should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes.
