Arguably the single most important electric clock ever produced by Sessions of Connecticut. This one is the Sessions Moroccan Palace model, often quite incorrectly referred to as the Nubian, Blackamoor, or even Aunt Jemima.

Clock is completely authentic, original and works. It keeps time accurately and runs quietly.

This elegant clock can be used as a table or mantle clock but has spent from 1965-2012, unplugged in a glass showcase where it had been kept all these years by a collector of Black Memorabilia. This clock was produced for 3 years only 1936-1939 and is said to have been commissioned as a gesture of respect for the many Sudanese who perished as a result of the Nile River flood of 1930.

Clock body has been matrix-cast in an iron mold and the details are incredible, and with its original satin finish appears to be made of cast iron, but is actually non-metallic. Case is 5-color hand-painted polychrome.

Features 2 hand painted, blue eyed, orange turbanned court men, pulling back the drapes to reveal the palace clock. Brass bezel is shiny just like new, dial is silvered (immaculate and unscratched), arabic numbers with red working second hand. Glass is clear as new, unscratched with just 1 little flea speck between the 5 and 6. This is barely discernable as are a couple of flea specks on the black case.

We have carefully cleaned off some surface dust and buffed the case with beeswax restoring its original satin lustre, we have removed the well- worn felt base cover and replaced that with 4 removable felt feet, which will do a much better job of protecting the clock case and your furniture. We have run the clock for 7 days - it keeps perfect time. Plug and Cord are original and supple.

Whether you are a Sessions/Electric Clock or Black Americana/Memorabilia collector, this one is an absolute show stopper, probably one of an extremely few left in the world and certainly of investment quality. This one gets sold to a good home only!
