Here we have a remarkable 1920’s enamel mesh bag by Whiting & Davis Co. The enamels are in great condition and in vibrant shades of green, yellow, pink, turquoise blue and black. The gold tone kiss close style frame has a beautiful floral and swirl pattern filigree style bar across the top. The purse has the original twist chain handle. There is slight detachment under the hinges and the bag is unlined be sure to see the photos below. Both sides of this purse are in equal condition and color. The skirt or fringe on the bag is Vandyke style. This purse is unusual and beautiful. It would benefit from a professional cleaning. The original tag is still inside the purse attached to the frame. This bag is in excellent condition for its age. I do not know the exact date it was made. This purse is antique and will not be perfect. This purse measures 7 ½ inches tall, 5 inches side to side and ¼ inches front to back when closed. It weighs 2 pounds. The purse is 14 ½ inches tall including the chain.
