The large white and pale pink blocks of this vintage baby quilt were machine pieced but the the blue embroidery was all done by hand. A variety of birds and botanicals, 28 in all, were artistically embroidered along with an inscription that reads "To Ivan, from Aunt Cora, Nov. 8, 1923." The entire quilt is meticulously hand quilted with tiny even stitches, 9 to the inch. There are two quarter size spots on the front that look like they would wash out and light surface soil overall, but its scalloped binding is in pristine condition. A lovely keepsake!
