You are looking at a rare Tiffany style bronze National Cash Register from 1911. This register design was styled by the famous Tiffany studios in NYC and is called the Dolphin pattern. This is register model #332 and size #349G in polished lacquered bronze. The National Cash Register Co was based in Dayton, OH. This piece is dated 6-13-1911. The marble change sill has been replaced with a piece of resin. The glass is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. There are 22 round tab keys, all are in good condition and you can still see all the numbers. Some of the coating over the numbers has cracked and chipped. The front panel above the keys will lift up to show a customer counter and adder. This register sits on a black wooden base. There is a plate on the front that shows seriel #1446680 and model #332. The paper on the bottom of the cash drawer says patented in Canada 1892-1898-1904-1905. The spring loaded drawer is divided with 3 bill pockets and 6 coin pockets. There is a bronze finger pull on the front of the drawer which is a nice addition. This register was built for S.A. Anderson of New Bedford, IL for the Anderson Department Store on Main Street. We have a photograph of this store that was taken 11 months before this register was made. See the photo below. This register measures 17 inches tall, 17 9/16 inches side to side and 16 3/8 inches front to back. It weighs 107 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested.
