A very ornate sports medal engraved in fancy script on the top portion "Running Broad Jump" & in the center of a relief Victory Wreath on the medallion "H.S.A.A. May 30 '91". Probably High School Athletic Association. On the back is inscribed the winner's name "P.J.Shannon". Also on the back in tiny block letters is "Meggie". The Shannon family lived in the Pennsylvania & New York areas during this time. The medal is not marked but could be sterling or silver plate. It is in excellent condition except for the usual minute scratches from being stored with other jewelry in a box.
