This single page double side hand colored map is from Mitchell's New General Atlas book that was published by S. Augustus Mitchell, No. 815 Arch Street, Philadelphia in 1880. One side is a map of South America showing its political divisions with an inset of New Granada showing its proposed Atrato-Inter-Oceanic canal routes for connection the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, map is dated 1879. Map area measures 9 1/4" X 11 7/8" not including the detailed grape vine border. The other side is a map of New Granada, Venezuela and Guiana, Peru and Equador, Argentine Confederation. Map has no tears.
