1833 Louisiana Legal Document regarding an 1818 Mortgage secured by the ownership of 23 named slaves. State of Louisiana Parish of Concordia I George G... . office recorder of mortgages in and for the said Parish do hereby certify and make known that the forthcoming mortgages appear of record in my office, viz. i.a mortgage recorded the 22nd June 1818, granted by Francis S Girault in favor of Charles B Green against all the interest right title of the said Girault in and to the Plantation called Rifle Point, in this Parish, now owner by L. P. Gustion: and also, his right and title to the slaves named Cato, Jack, Sammy, London, Bob, Sally, Sally again, Amy, Gracey, Thelma, Eve, Maria, Lucy, Lucky, Lance, Warren, Emily, Eli, Solomon, Gina Peter, Bill to secure the said Charles B Greenas and owner of the said F. S. Giraults note for $10,000 dated the 13th pf 14th of March and payable at the Bank of the State of Mississippi. 2. A mortgage recorded the 5th of October 1820, granted by the said Francis S. Girault in favor of the President, Directors and Co. of the Bank of the State of Mississippi against an the interest right title of the said Girault in and to the said Rifle Point Plantation, and the slaves named Cato, Jack, James, London, Sally, Sally again, Amy, Eva, Maria, Lucy, Lucky, Eli, Jim, Peter, Bill, .Peter, Craig, John to secure the payment to the said Band of the sum of 21,000 divided into four equal .installments bearing six per interest for .from the 29th November 1818. 3. A mortgage recorded the 5th October 1820, granted by the said F. S. Girault in favor of Charles B. Green, against properly mentioned in the last recorded mortgage to secure the said Green an owner of the notes of the said Girault given to the said Bank for the said debt of $21,000. 4. A judicial mortgage obtained by William Kenner gainst the said F. S. Girault in the First District Court of this State, for the sum of $5,570. with interest at 5 per cent per annum from the 14th February 1824 till paid and $71- cost of interest- recorded in the office 23rd Jan 1824. 5. A mortgage recorded the 3rd May 1824 granted by the said Francis S. Girault, in favor of the Heirs of Sam ..and against all of the said Rifle Point Plantation, together with the slaves Lucky, London, Jim, Lucy and her two children, Eva and her two children, Abraham, Jack, Sally, Dick, Big Sally, Cato, Old Jack and Amy, to secure the payment of $8,500 divided into three equal annual installments, bearing ten per cent interest from maturity, if not paid when die. 6. A mortgage, recorded the 29th April 1831, granted by Samuel P Gustion, in favor of the President, director and co. of the Bank of the State of Mississippi, against all the said Rifle Point Plantation, together with the slaves Peter, Jack, Cato, London, Hannibal, Levin, Moses, Eli, Enoch, Little Jack, Harry, Orilly, Sally- Dick, Memory, Lucy, Eve, Betsy and her child Mary to secure the payment of $20,000, divided into six equal annual installments bearing six and our half per cent interest per annum from date till paid. And I do further certify that the foregoing are the only mortgages which remain of record in my office, against the said property.
