Antique 17th century European hunting sword with a straight double-edged blade signed by the bladesmith. An iron hilt comprised of a down-turned shell cut with vertical slots, a flattened down-curved quillon knuckle-guard recurved at the top rounded quillon - block cut en suite with the shell, and fitted with stag horn grip - scales in a characteristic Karabela style head pommel retained by three rosette iron rivets. MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 71 cm (28 in). Length of the blade: 57,5cm (22 5/8 in). Width of the blade: 4,5cm (1 3/4in).
