Exceptional artisan work by Kataro Shirayamadani.. marked as shown. Soft mutted colors on a pale creamy ground that blends to a mottled rose color at the waisted neck. The letter "S" was frequemtly used to denote a piece was thrown for demonstration, often when a prominent visitor was shown throught the pottery.
